Any company in the US rent manuals?

I have a friend who I'm trying to get into autocross, and I offered to teach her to drive a manual and use my car at a few events.
I *don't* want her killing my clutch though. I can't seem to find any car rentals in the US that have manuals - I was able to get a manual Audi in Germany a few years back.
Do any of the big car rental companies offer manual tranny cars?

Would it be possible to get a 20 year old econobox for $300-400? Cost wouldn't be much more than week of rent, and she might get some real practice on it before moving to a performance machine.

Virtually no car rental agency rents manuals anymore (believe me I've looked). Everybody and their brother has had the idea of renting a manual to teach somebody how to drive it and I assume in the past the car rental agencies went through some clutches so now they only rent autos.

Try doing a '24 hour test drive' from some dealer. Most of them will let you take a car for the night, or even weekend.....I just feel sorry for the poor sap that buys it when you are done with it (can you say "warranty work?").
