Looks like the Focus is totaled.

Got a call from the body shop. Apparently my car is borderline totaled, they are waiting for an official statement from the insurance company to get there tomorrow. As it stands, I think we will choose to have it totaled.

Anyway, it's looking like it is time for a new car. I would like another Focus but mine has given me a lot of trouble (3 alternators, 2 fuel pumps) and I feel like it's cursed. So I dunno. If I get another one, I want an SVTF.

A have a few other options, like a 2004 Civic Coupe, Black with 21,000 miles on it for $9500 in Jacksonville.

Anyway, I will still be posting here because I love you guys so much. I can pretend to be a Focus driver, right? :P

That truly sucks. You had a very clean Focus and I know you had lots of plans for her.

Whatever you decide to go with for a replacement you will always be welcomed here

It's sad to see another Foci's life cut short...sorry bout the loss buddy.

You should stick with the Focus , get an '07. Even though you can't get the SVT anymore you can still get the ST and upgrade it to similar SVT specs...and besides, this is the last year of the hatch so if you want one that will be covered by a warranty and all that good stuff.

Now's the time to do it.

After three years with a focus that had an aversion to being near holy grounds (car prove to be nothing but trouble - 4 transaxle rebuilds, 3 steering racks, 2 ignition switches, among others), the car finally crapped out in spectacular fashion by having a the wiring burn out (fry the electronics) and cause the battery to explode. I ended up having to make a choice - spend an absurd amount of money on the car with no guarantee that it'll be 100%, plus arrange for an old priest and a young priest to perform an excorcism (the service department was willing to help with this) or spend the money on a new car.

I ended up buying an 07 in the same color scheme. Loved the car, hopefully this one won't have trouble (the dealer offered to have the car blessed by a local priest). It's the last of the hatches, and it's more nicely equipped than my 02 was (save for alloy wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel, fog lights, and tachometer). I like the 07 a bit better - more power bone stock and drives very nicely.

That blows. I doubt you'd have as much trouble if you move forward a couple of years or got an SVT. Although it would be a tough choice for me because I really like the '04 model civics with the EX trim options, especially in black or that deep metallic blue. They're not really very fast from what I hear, but I really like the styling. Either choice would be fine from me.
