Question about a fluid container.`

Hi everyone.

I have a really dumb question. I have a 2001 focus SE. There is a white container witha black lid/black box device against the firewall. I have no idea what this is for, but I need to replace the fluid.

I think it is for the break fluid, but I really want to make sure before I buy something and ruin my car :)

Can anyone help me out? its on the right side kind of in front of the driver seat

Thanks!

Sabota.

Is it inside the car or under the hood? What shape is it? I know on most of the foci that I have seen, the reservoir for the brake fluid is round (almost like a small barrell). Is there anything on the lid or top?

Does your car have a manual transmission? It could be the clutch system reservoir. I have not had my Focus long enough to remember where it is, but that sounds like the right place. If so, it uses regular brake fluid.

Sorry I was off at work over the weekend.

Here is an image, not the same engine, but it will work. If you look at the right side top section, to the left of the fuese box you will see what I am talking about. The white container.

O and my car is an automatic, Thanks guys.
