It's all about feel...

It's the Professor again, sharing some honeymoon thoughts on his 007 Phokus, and I gotta say that the feel of this car is fab!

The gas and brake feel is smack on and tight-no vagueness whatsoever, and that is a massive plus. I've driven Hondas, and the pedal feel is like a spoon in soggy oatmeal. Excellent feedback from both pedals in the Phokus, and this is a major plus...

Steering feedback is also quite impressive. It's direct, with no loss of feel on-center like other cars, and man do I love the quickness! Would have given a lot to have steering as quick in my retired Bimmer. And the power steering is so correctly boosted it reminds me of the manual steering in my older 1983 BMW 320i.

This be a fun car to drive...hard....

^hahah glad ya are enjoying your focus, lol damn almost spelt it with a ph damn you, haha but yea its a quick lil fun car that loves the twisties, didnt think ya would have found out so soon, but im sure ya pushed it and you were overly impressed that a lil ford car could do that, now next thing you need to do is go to a A/X and when people laugh at what you drive, dont say anything, keep a lil smirk on your face, and when you whoop up on a lot of them there attitudes change, i know thats what happened when i raced, also was only 8v car there and still whooped the v8 boys(old car was the 8v spi focus)

I do drive pretty hard when I can, but I don't abuse my cars..

Yes-it's withstood the 'aggressive commute" test, and I really can't wait to see what it can do through the twisties at the local track.

Need to do a good fun drive through the local national park, better known as west Tennessee's answer to the Tour de Corse...

Cheers, Kondike!

Yes, that is a really fab price for track time. Bit of a drive for me, but would love to do Nelson one of these days.

Memphis Motorsports Park isn't the United States answer to Spa-Francorchamps (it's based on a 1/4 mile strip), but it is close, and the sessions I do will (hopefully) be no charge..

Have fun at Nelson, Klondike

one thing to keep in mind about the focus is that is had a very durable motor (duratec)however their clutches are not designed for hard usage. i have read posts on people with low mileage dropping the clutch and destroying it. oops...you have an automatic.
