Project MK3 - Arizona Trail Runner

Howdy all!

Figured it was time for me to start a build thread as I'm getting past the point of just fixing everything that's broken in the car and can actually start working on upgrades.

This is what she looked like not long before she came to me.

I bought her from a guy that had fixed her up so that his sister could use it as her Daily, she ended up getting a work car so he let it go for cheap!

Here's the first day I had her home back in Alabama

Swapped out the stock chrome headlights for some Titanium Black ones!

And about this time realized that I had foglights on the front bumper and no way to turn them on. That's how I ended up finding FF while searching for a way to add them to the car!

Then my wife and I moved to Arizona. The car was shipped while we drove my wife's out. Here it is being delivered!

Wish that sweet half-cab Bronco was mine as well, but alas.

New job, new home, and most importantly new garage!

With space to work I was finally able to finish the fog light install with some Morimoto LED foglights, and repair some damage to the radiator support that had been incorrectly fixed. Also swapped out the lower engine mount for a Focus Electric one.

And that's where she stands now! I have a scheme in mind for the car that should hopefully take shape over the rest of this year depending on how finances play out. But you'll be able to find all the updates here!

One last picture...

I thought AZ was supposed to be hot!

Nice start to your Build thread, working a trash to treasure theme here.

Phoenix is about it for warm most of the time, it gets colder any way you travel from there except south!

Desert nights can cool off more than you expect, for snow all it takes is heading up in elevation.

Well it's a long story to get to Tucson, but the short of it is my wife and I are both originally from SoCal and wanted to get closer to home but stay out of California. I found a good job in Tucson with Garmin so here we are!

Overall so far we love it!

I'm a Mechanical Engineer doing new product design for them. I work in the division that does dog tracking and training products.

What are you doing over in Europe?
