2006 ZX3 Hail Build!

I picked up a 2006 ZX3 from the original owner last week. Has 84,000 miles on her and a manual trans. Other than the hail it is in great shape! Paid $2,000. Might be a little high with the salvage title, but it came with all the maintenance records and being original owner I thought it was worth every penny.

So it does have HAIL Damage and was totaled out because of it, and like a lot of people she took the check and spent it on something else!
But...good news I am a PDR technician and can fix the hail damage myself, it is pretty bad, but I can fix it! As you can see in the pics the hood is hit pretty good and so was the whole drivers side, I have already fixed the Drivers side fender, door and 1/4 panel and I already fixed the roof. Wednesday I will be repairing the hood!

Now a little back ground on myself, I was a big Honda guy in the 90's to the early 2000's, and have built some pretty fast track hondas and know the ends and outs of Hondas. But when it comes to a Focus I am new to the scene, so any input would be appreciated! Just know I am new to the Focus, but not to building cars in general.

Already started upgrades..
Got the windows tinted

Ordered some Sparco Pista today, sticking with 15", I do a lot of gravel road driving so I did not want a real low profile tire, else I would of went with 17's!

I want to order a lowering kit but I am not sure what kit. I have been looking at the FRPP kit at Massive, is that a good kit for the 2006? I do not what a huge drop, just a nice handling ride and a smaller wheel gap.

Also want to get a full exhaust system and CAI, recommendations?

Here are a few pics of her and the Hail damage, will post pics after I repair.

Price is nice for a decent car, being able to fix up at least most of the hail damage yourself makes it a bargain.

FRPP would be a decent kit to drop it a bit & stiffen it up, it'll handle nice after that.

Look in the Duratec performance section for reviews on CAI's & exhaust, a lot of individual preference there.

OK, so I finished the Hail repairs today.
I also picked up a factory KONA roof rack!! I do not have the factory bolt holes, but I plan on drilling and tapping for the bolts.

Here are some pics of the repairs and the finished product.

Nice find on the kona rack, best looking rack you can get. How would your hail repair cost if someone had to pay full retail to do it?

It was estimated out by State Farm at $5500 for traditional repairs, thats why it was totaled out.

But if I was to do the estimate for INSURANCE claim for Paintless Dent Repair, it would of been between $2000-$2500.

No insurance and paying cash I would work a deal with the customer!

Car is sweet. I just put the eibach 1.5 pro kit on my zx3 and I'm pleased it really has a clean stock look to it. Until you pull up to a stock one then you realize how much lower it is. Handles good but I want some different dampers. I already had new factory replacements ready to go on. I got eibach for 150 shipped. Rock auto has good prices on the kyb dampers

How would the car handle with just Ford Racing springs on factory dampers?

I'm on factory dampers and with 1.5 drop and it handles well. Better than stock. But it will be even better when I get better dampers. Truthfully you won't be able to tell much difference. Just a little stiffer.
