My 2003 ZX5
So I'm a new member, but a total Focus Fanatic. This is my second Focus. I found it used on a lot with 72k miles on it and its a 2003. Needless to say I had to pick it up. The interior is gray and in perfect condition. I've got lots of plans for this car, but the first thing I did to it was remove the rear windshield wiper, because I hated the way it looked, so dated. I found the tutorial here and followed along. So here is my baby.

And I'm terrible at remembering to take before shots, but here it is after the "surgery".

looks good! i do like the way the deleted wiper looks but i actually use that thing from time to time. lower it!

Lower the car? I wouldn't even begin knowing how to do that. [wrenchin] <-- not me.

easy improvements: remove the pinstripe and debadge the hatch.

Painting the handles and side trim would look great as well (do the mirror cap at the same time or get a set of folding ones off a SVT or ST)
A drop and a set of euro grills would round off the Mod binge and would make the car very clean looking

pin stripe was removed a few days ago. and I replaced my dry rotted antenna as well. I'll get pics of that later. by debadge, do you mean the Ford logo?

katiekay 04-24-2013 10:10 PM

By debadge he means: take off the "Focus' & "ZX5" logos. Wheels and a drop would look nice. The Focus suspension is a very easy thing to change, you can look for how-to's on the forums for answers :)

sounds like a plan. I'll debadge it tomorrow. suspension will have to wait for now.

go on to youtube and 1a auto has a video on how to do the struts, then all it takes is spring compressors and lowering springs, and undo a few bolts, and the old spring pops off and then the new one goes on and reverse everything! me and a buddy who had never done any suspension did it in one night.

as for everything else, debadge it! clean up that rear end even more

super jealous, always loved the mk1 hatches

Thanks for the info on the suspension. I'll definitely get around to it in time. I've got some interior stuff I'm working on right now. Here is what I've done so far.

On a side note, here is what I bought my wife this past weekend.

Looks good. Aside from the simple stuff and maintenance, first thing I'd do is the SVT suspension. It replaces most things under the car, and sort of counts as a maintenance item as well since it replaces the struts. Super cheap for what it is.
