Blkfocuszx3's Chevrolet
I've been selling off my two old vehicles (1984 Volkswgen Rabbit & 2001 Ford Focus ZX3) so I can purchase my first brand new vehicle.

I bought a Chevrolet Sonic sedan LT. It's equipped with the 1.4l turbo engine and six speed manual transmission. So far I have to say I absolutely love it.

Here's some pics from the day after I picked it up.

The first thing I did to the exterior was remove the badges and the dealer pinstripe vinyls.

My first performance mods were a ZZP intake and a Trifecta tune.

I've had it for a little over a month and love it. I plan on adding a few more things but I'm just enjoying it right now.

Let me know what you guys think.

Nice...definitely a good start on mods. Love the pic with fog rolling in.

Why a sedan instead of a hatch?

UnbridledCarnage 09-13-2012 09:55 AM

^THIS. i like the hatch sonics, but the sedans just scream sub compact car to me

Because the hatch is ugly.

The sedan has much more room in the trunk than the hatch does with the seats up. The tail lights on the hatch were an absolute deal breaker for me they're hideous. I got to test drive the hatch for a week and couldn't stand looking at it from the rear.

Factory IIRC is 138/148 (hp/tq). Mine with the tune and intake is prolly around 150/190 at the wheels.

Here's a dyno sheet of an automatic Chevy Cruze (they have the same engine).

well, i wouldn't count on that much added torque. but i'm sure it's better than factory. did you get your intake the day you got the car ?
