What are the self tuning options available?

All, I'm aware of Delta Force Tuning Solutions and of course SCT. Does anybody have any other options and what's the most user friendly one.

The delta force is very lacking and very little support

The SCT PRP would be your best bet

On a side note if you do tuning through me you get FREE tune updates and wont have to worry about tuning

Its not any cheaper either.

Tom can sell you the device (Bluetooth or Flasher Unit) and like he said apart of the sell is a tune. If you change something, you use the Live software which is free, datalog your car and then send him that along with your file.

Even if you add options like 2 Step launch control, its a min cost and still over $300 cheaper than buying the whole kit from SCT.

If it was me, I would only buy the software suite IF I was going to tune other people's cars as a service. You can learn directly from SCT or EFI 101 in that case.

You can try Ouarterhouse + EEC Edit, not sure if they have definitions for the Focus SVT however. Google is your friend there.

This is the darkhorse option. I don't know a single person who has a working tune, SVTf or focus with it though. I know that last time I'd talked with Pops Racing they claimed to have .def's for the SVT, but I really think he was blowing smoke up my butt.
I have a QH, BE and EE; and can't do anything with it W/O a .def. Though I bought it more to play with and see if I could make it work myself. It's not easy at, damn near impossible unless you have some serious programming skills.

So you're left with the SCT Advantage III + Xcal II option (IIRC for the SVT it's recommended you get a Xcal II and not the III) ,,, Tom confirm?

It's not terribly difficult to learn or tune with, I don't think. I mean I went from tuning nothing in the past (ECU wise) to were I am right now; which is having a 180whp, E-85, high compression headswapped daily driver. Granted I'm no idiot to begin with and I'm thorough and tedious, but still I had little trouble tuning it.

When you buy the PRP you get 1 ECU code you can tune , if you want to tune another car you have to but that ECU code , you cant buy the PRP and then tune a bunch of cars
