Pro-M MAF 70MM / 19Lbs

Focus Builders Handbook used a 70MM Pro-M Maf calibrated for stock 19lbs injectors. Looking at Pro-M's site I Don't see this MAF listed? I was interested in going with this MAF while running N/A for a small gain on stock injectors then once I go Forced Induction I could have it calibrated for 42lbs injectors.

Does anyone know if the Maf required a cutom tune when calibrated for the stock 19lbs injectors?

Appreciate any help in the matter. I did do a search but really didn't find much information aside from quetions that were not answered or for sale post.

I don't remember.
I do know that when I bought mine (back in 2002), I also got a Diablo chip from Focus Sport and told them I had the meter ... actually I think I bought the chip and meter both from them.

Anyways, Yes. Anytime you change a Maf tube or a meter you will need a tune,,, or at least a way to verify/datalog to see how far off the new meter is.

If you want a larger diameter 19# meter, look for late model Mustang's. IIRC it's the last of the 5.0's that had a 70mm/19# meter.

So, yes you definitely need to tune for it.

Like stated you need to do a tune to change to any MAF , My opinion is the recalibrated MAF was for back in the day when there wasnt good tuning and we didnt have the MAFia , use your MAF electronics in a 3 inch MAF tube and the MAFia , this is by far your best option

On a side note take that focus handbook and throw it in the trach , that would help you the most , its so full of it , one of the pictures where he made big HP has 2 heater hoses going over the fender into a cooler full of ice (adds an easy 80-120HP ), that car only made that HP on the dyno , total waste of reading in my opinion , junk it
