Tunes?

Hey every body, im new on the forum but I been reading for months and love it! I am not the type to half @ss anything, and from reading I have learned a tune is a MUST. I am soon to be getting a kn sri and obx header to match my either flowmaster or magna flow cat back I got on now. Im in the cincinnai ohio area and am curious if anyone knows or has been to a good tuning shop.

I can help you with all your tuning needs and can do you a full custom tune with FREE updates as you add more NA mods

I would look into the SVT header far more HP/TQ the any other header on the market

Tom

Tom a.k.a 1turbofocus is the man with the plan for tuning. There are a few of us from the Cincinnati area as well. Which part of town are you from?

Yeah, the SVT header is the best route. The main things you would need for the SVT header setup is to get the header, flex pipe, dipstick tube and high flow cat or off-road pipe. If you shop smart enough you should be able to get everything for around $300-$500 all together. As for the power steering line you could always do what most people did and just bend the stock one enough to get it out of the way, but if you are like me and want to take the proper course, you would replace it with either a direct replacement or aftermarket replacement SVT power steering line.

We used to have another member that lived up in Goshen a couple of years ago. He had a silver SVT. He still logs on here from time to time. Also while I am at it you should check out Focus Factor which is the local area guys on here. If you scroll down the forum you would see it in the Ford Focus Owner's Club section. Just post up a thread introducing yourself and let everyone know who you are.

Yes, I am running Tom's tune for forced induction since I am running a Jackson Racing supercharger.

I have a tune from FSWerks...slightly feels different but not really noticeable. 1turbofocus, would you be able to setup a tune for the SCT X3 flasher?

Tom can work with either the Xcal 2 or Xcal 3 SVT flashers its I think you take $150 off the price if you already have your won tuner... that is already locked to you ECU.

tom is the man for tuning. ive been working with him for years. he with walk you through the setup over im if need be or he can use team viewer to literally take control of your laptop and set it up himself if you want. it might take half a dozen or so datalogs to get the tune just right but when he gets it right man he gets it right. he really shines with his tunes on boosted cars though. with tom you dont have to actually put your car on a dyno or take it to a shop to get it tuned. you buy a SCT xcalibrator 2 or 3 which plugs into your obdII port which is then in turn plugged into a laptop with the provided or downloaded software. you drive the car and make some wide open throttle pulls from 2000rpm to about 6000rpm in 3rd gear and send the data from those pulls to tom over email. he looks over the data, makes a tune, you load it onto your car using the xcal and repeat the process until he is satisfied that the tune is complete. you will get the best results if you use a WIDEBAND air/fuel ratio gauge as an analog input in the datalog. i suggest the AEM uego A/F gauge. its a good one and you can find the whole setup for pretty cheap on ebay and on the BST here on this site.

and for the record i cannot stress enough how useful a tool the Xcal is. you can use it as a scan tool on all fords as far as i know to check and clear CEL (check engine light) codes that are obd2 compatible. and on the focus you can use it to raise and lower idle rpm, set the temp for radiator fans to kick on, tweak timing, fuel, speedo calibration, rev limiter, speed limiter, and im sure some other things im forgetting. extremely useful tool. ive had mine for years and years and have made literally dozens upon dozens of mods performance and otherwise and i still consider the xcal the most worthy investment. and if you ask really really nice tom might give you a two step function for the xcal

edit: hey tom. i actually seem to remember something about you running into issues with somebody being a dick about you giving them a two step on their tune awhile back and trying to sue you for damages then the idiot broke their own car at the track. do you still do two step if asked tom?
