PC laptop won't read SCT xcal3 and tuning question

I've done the datalogging without the AEM a/f gauge for Tom, now there's a new problem my pc laptop ( using Vista) won't read the SCT xcal 3.

I've done the SCT Device Updater 2.6 and still nothing.

A/f gauge:
I've done the firewire cable and I have to take it to a auto electrician to finish it because I'm sick of trying to mod parts to make the parts work in the the 1st place.

The a/f gauge witin a few minutes goes - - - and stays like that.
AEM wideband to xcal3 question

I' don't have the money to get it done and won't for a long time yet but, Tom want this in with the datalog.

Tuning:
I've talk to Tom for the past 2 year on and off and at 1st Tom couldn't help me becuase of the code and now he can.
I wasn't told of the above crap this is what I had to do to get a tune, I just drive my car from A to B, I've fitted header and exhaust on my own but, thats as far as it goes.

Your going to over clock my ECU with the a/f gauge so you can do the same without it as well.

I trust ya Tom so you got the the green light to over clock my ECU

I'll send my Xcal back to you so that you can load my tune and send it back.
I'll pay for shipping both ways.

I've tired to call you in your time and half the time you don't answer.
I call you from 11am over here to 2pm or like 8am to 2am your time.
it'll ring off the hock or go to message bank.
i don't have the money to get the a/f gauge fix and hard to call you so what would you like to do about it?

SCT forum overview: Blivit:

How do I get my tune without the BS and where do I stand getting my Focus tune with Tom, I've given Tom the right to over clock my ECU without the a/f gauge so can Tom say no to tuning my Focus?

here my mods
Ford Focus 2.0L auto 130Hp or 85kw at the fly
I use 98octane and I think that's = 93/4 U.S. octane.

Mods
Steeda air intake, OBX long tube header, Cosworth 2.5" with 2 hi-flow cats, 17"x7" rim
I made 102.9WHp with these mods

Xcal3 id XP071310C36BC
FW Version 1.2.122
Strategy AWAZ0Y4
6BAD ECU code

Rob

you should post this in Tom's forum or email him at hpdyno@aol.com. i get the best response when i email him. normally within 24 hours with an answer and if you catch it right, you can communicate back and forth rather quickly.

What Tom does with your tune is between you and Tom. We at SCT have no control over that. If you are having troubles with your tune you would need to contact him as he created it, not us.

What I gathered from your post though is that you are having troubles getting the file on your device. I would recommend doing the following:

-uninstall any sct programs
-download the latest updater program from our website (version 2.9.5.2)
http://www.sctflash.com/software/SCTDeviceUpdater.exe
-install only the updater program above with the device not connected to your pc
-once the install is connected, connect your device through usb and let the drivers install
-open the updater program and choose to load custom tunes to load the file that tom has sent you to the device
-flash your car

If all of the above works, download the latest livelink from our site (version 6.2)
http://www.sctflash.com/software/LiveLink.exe

Right now it seems that some of your problems are due to using old software.

I've done all the updates and still nothing... The SCT xcal3 works fine but, it seems for some reason it doesnt show up as a device.

Datalog:
Data format, what should it be setup as
0, 0.0, 0.00, 0.000????

Should I do a new datalog sin ce I've updated the device.

What is listed in device manager when the device is plugged in? Look for "Jungo" and there should be an X3device listed in there.

Data format is whatever you want it to be or whatever your tuner wants to see. The more digits the better the precision of the data.
