SCT wont talk to ECU

It wont pull the strategy code or upload a tune. Anyone else ever have this problem? What did you do to fix it?

SCT X3 Power Flash Ford Programmer with the latest firmware off the website. I am 99% sure its the + model, I just bought it from CFM a month ago. We tried multiple ones tho, including Fernando's, who was tuning multiple cars that day. His has always worked and he could not pull the strategy code either.

The SVT is picky and problematic.

When you go into the vehicle info screen does it come back with the vin and com type? If so, when you press select to go to the next screen (which would display the strategy) what happens?

I noticed that. If you want to stop by you can; I can take a look at it. I can't make any guarantees though. It seems to differ from vehicle to vehicle. Some are fine, others not so much. My 03 no longer has a problem when it did prior to the latest firmware update.

Assuming it does have an issue what are my options? I really need a new tune on this thing. It has the stock PowerWorks tune on it and its not good.

In your case, having the powerworks tune may be the issue. Because it can read the vin and com type the device is communicating with the vehicle. However, I am not sure if powerworks changes the stock strategy in the vehicle. If they do, the device will not be able to read it. We can look into that if you bring the vehicle by. We can force it if that is the case.
