Failed Inspection 2 DTC, No CEL??

I have 2 codes showing up in inspection,
-no cat converter
-no egr
they are both true but i had a dyno shop tune my car and they turned that off
is it really turned off or did they just make the light not come on
i put several hundred miles on the car, no CEL light but those two codes come up during inspection
the inspection guy said if i have one code pop up he can still pass me

Any ideas?
or anyone see what could be happening

by the way i am running a turbo with 6psi boost if that matters
no cat, no egr and i think my upstream o2 is trash. just stopped working but my car idles great.

You should find out the exact DTC codes with a code reader as there are no OBDII codes exactly as you describe i.e. cat missing
The EGR and catalyst systems have multiple components and codes associated with each system. Sounds like your tuner may have simply turned off the function that triggers the CEL. Tom would be the person to ask on FF as to what's involved in disabling a system completely.

Moving to ECU Tuning Chat. That seems to be a more appropriate forum for your question.

Apparently the shop just made the light go off. Did you try removing the negative terminal or clear the DTC memory with a scan tool?

if they are turned off by the tune....they will show "not ready" status...

in texas, you can only have one "not ready" (used to be 2 ) or you will fail.

are you sure they are "codes" or are they just "not ready"? They might be stored in your history for some reason.....

you can get rid of the cat (meaning, 2nd O2 sensor) by using a MIL cheater (the wire) instead of "tuning" it out....or re-tune back in the second O2 and basically punch holes in it, so it gets a shitton more oxygen, as that will "trick" it.

I have the "rear 02 sensor delete" and "EGR delete" options in my Focus Power tune but no CEL codes when the OBDII system is queried, and no "P1000 - Monitor Testing Not Complete" code.

And I pass the emissions tests without any problems so completely "tuning out" those systems is possible.

well one time i had a guy that FAILED me... yes he failed my inspection... even put the damn sticker on it. then came and told me i had no catalytic converter... I was dumbfounded.. i was like "uhhhh dude you know the catalytic converter is RIGHT INFTON OF MY ENGINE RIGHT?"

.... 5 min later he went to check and came back, he said "oh I'm sorry i thought that was part of the header....."

what a .... anyways yeah if they looked at the engine to see if it was there, make sure they know its in the front of the engine, "if you have one that is" if not idk what to tell ya lol good luck

PA is the same way your only allowed to have one readiness monitor that comes up "not ready" i ran into this with my orange car which is also turbo'd. i would just turn on the rear 02 and get a mil cheater and leave thye egr disabled and it should pass no problem. In PA if you drive less than 5000 miles a year you are automatically exempt, which is what i am since i have the rat to beat around in.
