Anybody Interested in working with Raw Hex?

I've got raw binary files for the LFQ1 and LFQO EECs, for 2000-2002 Zetec focuses.

I've got the addressing sorted out to most of the important functions and tables. If anybody is interested then I'll elaborate on the subject a bit.

I'll get the binaries for other focus EECs and start work with them if anybody is interested.

Thats all good , Then what do you do with it ? You have to have a way to change it , list what they are ETC

Its cheaper to go the 399 and buy a tune unless you have something your offering cheaper

Then what about datalogging

I was where you are now in 2000 with Mike Wesley , what a mess that was back in the day , I am allways open for new things if there better

Tom

Oh. I'm a little farther into it than you think. I've already got the KRAF5 strategy for these EEC's figured out quite well.

Ok for Equipment I use. The gear I use is made by Moates:

I use their Burn1. A 32 pin chip burner, which you can use to pull the raw binary off the EEC. And to burn your final tune to a chip when you're done tuning.

For the tuning part I use Moates' Ostrich 2.0 chip emulator. It can emulate up to a 32 pin chip (ford EEC-V). It offers realtime EEC address datalogging, the trick is to know what addresses to watch. I believe now Moates offers a better solution for Ford called the Quarterhorse. It has many more features than the Ostrich 2.0

I Datalog by logging my maf voltage and AFR. plus other goodies like TPS and RPM. I don't log these through the EEC though. I log these directly from the sensors using Innovate Motorsports gear. LC1 wideband + SSI4 sensor interface to be exact.

The good thing about the Moates gear is when you buy it, you have the means to tune any ford with an EEC-IV or EEC-V up till 2004. Plus OBD1 GMs, Older hondas and just about any ECU with a 28 pin chip in them.

Oh ya, the software I use. Paul Booth's EEC editor and Tunerpro RT. Both are quite simple to construct binary definitions for.

People think this gear is for OBD1 vehicles only because people seem to be scared to the 256k obd2 files. Because not a whole lot of them have been decoded yet. They are actually not much more complicated the the OBD1 files. There is obviously just more data to decode.

I learned to use this gear on my 75 Mustang that I put a EEC-IV powered 2.3turbo in.
I have also used this to tune a 2002 Focus for 46lb/hr Injectors and a 70mm MAF so I could run a turbo. And it worked quite well untill the clutch fried up.

So if anybody has Moates tuning equipment and wants to use it to tune thier Focus. I may be of some help.

I'm pretty interested in this stuff. I have an extensive background with Mitsubishi ECUs. I'm not sure how usefull I'll be on your project though. I've got an 02 SVT Focus, and from what I've read, it's basically an EEC-VI that uses an EEC-V connector.

Still, if I can help out, I'll try. I think it's BS that there's all this open reflashing stuff for Mitsu and Subaru, but there's hardly anything for the far more plentiful Ford and GM stuff.

You 2 do realise that there is SCT and Diablosport

For 399.00 I sell the xcal3 with a custom tune and free updates , It is a powerfull tool that has end user adjustability for things like timing , fuel , tire size and much more It also is a scan tool and datalogger or for 799.00 you can get the SCT Pro Racer with full ECU controle to do your own tuning

For 375.00 you get the Diablo Predator whick does about the same thing as the xcal3

To buy the parts and software for what you talk about above would cost about the same but be harder to navagate and use

Tom

To buy the parts you talk about above it would be about

Does that $399 get me a device that I can tune any ford vehicle from 84-2004? Over and Over again. Plus OBD1 GMs. Plus Hondas. Because I can with the Moates equipment.

In case anybody cares to look. I have posted the KRAF5 strategy definition that I constructed and the LFQ1 binary file in the files uploads and downloads section on the Moates website. The definition is XDF format for Tunerpro RT.

LFQ1 what a wonderful phrase! it's no passing craze! It's our problem free! Philosophy! Haukuna Ma tata!! opps wrong thread lol.

So what are you saying here? You have another device or software that can tune stuff with? You decoded ECU for those focus's with LFQ1-0. Or are trying to sale something? What is it exactly....Just asking folks.

I created a definition to for Tunerpro RT. For use with the LFQ1 and LFQ0 EECs. These EECs are found in 2000-2002, Zetec, 5speed, Focuses.

You can use this software to modify your tune and all you need is a burner and chip to get tuning.
