The file is a .csv (comma separated variable) file. Right click on the file and then select "Open with..." and pick "Notepad" if you want to look at the raw data. It'll simply be a series of numbers separated by a comma.
It's not really necessary, however, to look at the raw data with any other application other than the Livelink software. If Livelink can open it on your machine, anybody with the same software should be able to as well.
I'd be interested if you solved this. I ran into the same problem with Tom not being able to read my logs. I sent the file to several others including SCT tech support and they reported no problems. Their only suggestion was to make sure everyone is using the same version - 6.1
If you want, pm me and send me a small sample log. I'll see if I can open and view it on my machine.

thats exactly what it is. it is a csv file and if i open it in notepad itis a bunch of numbers seperated with comma's as you said. If it opens in excel or microsoft works it is in a spread sheet form and is completly viewable in a graph form,if that makes any sense.

A .csv file is just a standard agreed upon format between software vendors for moving data between, usually, databases of various types. It's been around for a long time and it's not surprising SCT uses it. The fact the MS Excel or Word can open it really is of no consequence other than it points to the probability that it's not a corrupt file. The important thing is that you can view it with Livelink. The only thing I can suggest is that it gets corrupted somehow when sent to Tom or some software setting at Tom's end is incompatible with some setting at your end.

Got it. I can open it and read it without problem.
We need more specifics from Tom as to what he means when he says the software tells him the file is corrupt.

Tom's on here fairly frequently. GL. Let me know if you find a solution. It's probably something simple, like a software configuration setting maybe.
