xcal 3 tune review

Now before reading, this isnt bashing anyone, or talking down on anyones skills this is just my comparison so far, this isnt to boosts anyones ego or to pull someones down. just my thought.
---
I wasin the market for an xcal3 because i plan to go pwsc in a few months, and so i previously had toms tune via predator.
i am on a budget and trying to cut costs as much as i could towards the build so instead of going with Tom (sorry tom i should have :regrets: )
399+20 shipping +pp fees (roughly 430 from tom)

i went with Randy becuase 380 with free shipping hell it was 50 bucks.

recieved my xcal3 from FSwerks today. loaded it up and started the car.

(now remember i had toms tune on my car, same mods, so im expecting close to the same thing)

my intial thought of when i started the car is ummm ok?

really really weird idle, lumpy, sounds cammed.
(really not happy witht he sound)

well idle goes down a bit and so i go for a drive.

Hanging revs galore. normal driving and shifting is the same as stock tune, it just hangs and then slowly goes back to normal idle.

driving to the gas station normal, no WOT or getting on it, no high rpms.

the car is sputtery and almost misfire, it feels like its just really rich from about 1500-2500. and at idle it just smell very fuelly.

so not much pick up down there, hearing what sounds like almost misfiring and the weakness of the car down low i was afraid to take it up above 3k, and the hanging revs which are part of the reason i wanted the tune to go away are still there.

maybe i just need to be a little more open minded, but you have to remember the tune i had from tom was awesome. (via diablo)

i can say going from stock tune to Toms i could immediately feel a difference and how good the tune was the day he loaded it to my car.

now going from stock tune to randy's it feels worse at idle, sounds worse at idle, maybe a little better than stock tune through 1500-3k but still doesnt pick up like toms.

i can say that i havent really rode the car hard cause i just feel uneasy with the tune after driving around a bit.

but as of now i feel like i should have spent the 50 more dollars and got toms tune.

this isnt bashing FSWerks this isnt Bashing Randy, i have all respect for everyone.

im just stating my experience and etc.

it might be that its just my 3" orp and 3" flex and 3" back that he is used to maybe idk?

also i wanted the fans set lower (190*) because i believe thats around where tom turns the fans on.
and im in tx and dont like my car to run at 220* (randy said fans usually come on around 216* but idk)

You did this for 50.00 , what about when you want another tune because of more mods and its 35.00 to 300.00+ more ?

You money your decision , you get what you pay for LOL

Have you tried calling them to get a new tune? I have one of their tunes and my car runs considerably better than stock.

Did you happen to tell them that you were going PWSC? Maybe they sent you a tune for PWSC? And you loaded it to a non PWSC motor? Just a little thought =/. I don't see FSWERKS screwing someone over. Although we all know Tom is the tuner here. Quality Tunes.
