Question Rotation of the MAF?????

Does the postion of the MAF matter?

It was a long time go, on another forum, I was reading that the upright postion of the MAF gave better readings. While any other postion would cause the car to run lean.

google search it, it comes up with a mustang forum..... apparently they run it at a lesser degree to supposedly keep the car from running rich.

All this is related to the tune , once a car is tuned (stock or custom) rotating the MAF can change your AF and on some BIG TIME

A lot of things come into play , how close a turn is to the MAF before or after , pipe size change before or after , type of MAF etc

So on a stock SVT or focus. How would the badly would the rotation of the MAF affect the car?

Because on the SVT CAI's the MAF sits sideways...

If the CAI is made to have it on its side then its fine , if it tunes even on the bottom its fine

Again its when your car is tuned THEN you change the position of the MAF that it could change AF , Most aftermarket SRI / CAI are fine where ever the MAF location is placed

When I do tuning I'll get my datalogger going and rotate the MAF back and forth until I get the MAF voltage at idle to be between .9 and 1volt then I start tuning from there.
