Tune for my new supercharger?

Well i manged somehow to get a new jackson racing supercharger dont ask me how just really lucky. My question is i want to take it to a shop to have them instal and tune the vehicle for this will i need to purchase a handheld tuner? or do they have chips that they can use instead? The reason is i want the governor off and i might move to a 4-2-1 header and will have to delete the o2 sensor or adjust for it. Any ideas or opinions are greatly appreciated!

Turbo Tom will be remote tuning my supercharger when i get it installed. I already own an Xcal3 and a Wideband UEGO AFR gauge will be installed as soon as i get it in. Tune moves governor to a higher speed.

BOOOOO - 108mph!!!!!!

The JRSC isn't too hard to install yourself if you have a little mechanical know-how. The installation instructions are very thorough.

As far as tuning, I would recommend an SCT X3 handheld tuner, an AEM A/F gauge, and a remote F/I tune from 1TurboFocus (Tom). Tom will e-mail you a base tune which you can load to your ECU with the X3. He'll then have you run several data logs using LiveLink software to really dial it in. The tune will allow you to bypass O2 sensors, the EGR system, and modify a number of other parameters.

LOL!!!

As for the OP, just get a BBK package, it comes with a tune. and if you decided to get it remotely tune, you'll end up paying almost $1k after everyhting. When a BBK package is only like $600, you will eventually want to go more boost anyway.

I agree with what you stated and it would save him 400.00 BUT the BBK is ment for a bone stock engine NO OTHER MODS and he is talking about adding a header and other parts later then would have to but a tune anyway so to do the BBK would end up costing him more

I would add the SVT header for the most performance

Tom

To my understanding blackjack you are unable to find the BBK kits anymore and for the tune with them i believe ford is no longer accepting them because they no longer manufacture the kits anymore. I am more than likely going to have to take it to a performance shop and have them dyno it and get it where it needs to be i was just wanted to know if i had to buy that handheld tuner or not,but it looks like i do. and as for the link yes it was me i saw it before you posted the link wrc wannabe was pretty much a everyday search for me till i found the right one, i saw used ones but i wanted new!!
And now since the new focus will be coming out i will be getting the sedan to rock with my supercharged hatch!! good days are coming!!

ford will still flash a ECU if you can find a BBK package.

do a search and make a few calls, there are still vendors out there who still have a few left.

And Tom is right, if you do get a BBK, and run a 4-2-1 header. You would need to get either a MIL or a spark fouler to turn off the check engine light.

boost and wide band is all you need.
The BBK tune runs pig rich.
