Firewire cable help

Ok...Im going to attempt to wire up my AEM wideband to my x3. Ive found an old thread that explains to do so.

So whats the best firewire cable to get? Ive looked around online a bit and there are so many diffrent kinds and I really just dont have an Fing clue whats best lol

The old thread talked about an apple firewire cable? I dont want to buy one and it not be the correct end to fit into my x3.

thanks for the help!

I have a autometer gauge, but I just went to best buy and got a firewire cable with the one correct end to plug into the x3. I didnt use any special cable and it works fine.

I just set up my AEM wideband to my X3. I believe any standard firewire cable will do.

Once you cut off one cable end, you use only one of the wires in it anyway to connect to the white wire of your AEM harness. I believe the difference between the Apple brand and others may be the colour coding of the internal wires, but I'm not sure; I used an Apple cable. (On the Apple firewire cable end, you want the red lead.)

I bought my cable from a computer store for 5 bucks. The only thing that messed me up with it was that the analog wires were reversed from the one that SCT sells. That was the only diff though. The colors were the same. If you get one, just look at the diagram SCT has for theirs, and do a pin test on yours to check if its the same or a little diff.
