Tune Lingo

I am thinking its finally time to get a tune. Could somebody school me on some tune lingo.
What is the difference between SCT, Xcal, Predator that I see mentioned all the time?
Is one better than the others?

No the SCT is no better then the Predator it comes down to the tuner and his ability to get you the best tune

They both load tunes into your car through the OBDII port
They both read and clear the CEL (Check Engine Light)
They both datalog

I feel I have the best tunes around I have been tuning the Focus far longer then anyone and own a SVT and have worked on my Predator tune sence 2002 to correct the issues I didnt like about my SVT , I also sell the SCT XCAL3 SVT tune but havent taken all the time to perfect a lot of the little things like I have with the Predator tune

I sell the Predator for 375.00 and 20.00 for shipping and that comes with my custom tune and free updates as you add more mods

Great!! Thanks for clearing that up for me. One more question, I think I know, but what is data logging?
So do I just PM you or what when I am ready to buy?

Datalog is where you hook the xcal3 to the OBDII port and you can watch things like
Engine temps
intake temps
timing / spark
rpm
load
short turm fuel trims

and about 100 other things

I want to add one little thing about there being no difference.... I feel you can do a better tune with the Diablo software but only if your an experienced tuner (from a user point of view) BUT for the average Joe I would recommend getting the SCT because its datalogging capabilities are far better.

I could use some clarification please:
You can do a better tune with the Diablo software but only if your an experienced tuner (from a user point of view)
Can you can the tune around yourself after you load it??
Also,
Why would an average Joe need better dataloggin? Wouldn’t that info be beneficial to a more experienced person??

He probably means either doing more of the tuning yourself, or maybe if you are going to be using a dyno to help tune.

Better data logging will help Tom with remote tuning you.

Whta I meant is to the tuner (guy doing the tuning) I feel the Diablo software is more user friendly and easier to use.
