SVT datalog knock

browsing on FJ and Blivit (works for sct) found something amazing or an amazing possiblity
maybe being able to not have to have a j&s for the svt forced induction!

Hey, its not polite to cross-post other people's threads like that. Not sure if he'd care, but he might.

I was hoping he would share and post it here as well

I have been playing with the knock sensor for a long time now and able to read it with a diff scanner and I have the ability to change sensivity among other things but never really had much luck getting it to work , but with flashing taking soooooo long to do both going in the flasher and in the SVT , I have only spent about 20 Hrs on it but most of the results were about the same , having to turn it off

Maybe he can shed some light on it and can get it to work he has equipent to see and do things we as tuners cannot do also keep in mind the PRP and most tuning shops dont have the software to make the sensivity and other changes to the SVT

Yeah, if he gets it all figured out it would be nice of him to post it on both forums, but that is up to him (although once it's public then its public, I suppose). I just feel like we should let people post wherever they want to post and not duplicate their stuff. I am worried that by cross-posting you may have discouraged him from leaking more info about his progress.

And yes, since he works at SCT he is working with binary dumps & looking at all the EEC tables and values, much more stuff than any dealer/tuner/PRP has access to.

Anyways, I'm definitely excited to see where this goes!

I am not too particular on where the info goes but for right now I am not ready to release anything yet. I have yet to find an adder table and while logging I have yet to see the knock sensor add any timing unless I force it to. Until I can find that I am not going to make the info available.

The sensitivity definitely works as does the logging parameter and the retard limit right now.

Thanks for working hard on this , It would help a lot to get this working and not need the J&S

Why is it important to get the timing adders working before releasing just the spk retard , I understand you need at times to add back in timing as to low of timing can do as much damage as to much

On the J&S I set the sensivity to about half, I have set changes to sensivity from 10,20,30,40,50% and still the knock sensor pulls timing that should/needs to be there , I have changed the load side to match the timing load and many many other things

I will update my livelink because spk knock for the SVT does not work in the one I have or the raptor , I have been watching spk source or having to use a diff scan tool

Im curious where your settings are when you get it working and release

The reason I am looking for an adder table is due to what I read here and on other forums. I see people posting that without a J&S the knock sensor adds timing up top at WOT and has caused engine failure.

If I can find the adder table, set it so that it cannot add past a certain RPM or load but it can still retard it would eliminate the need for the J&S.

But the knock sensor cant add timing if it isnt safe/needed , If I understand it correctly the knock sensor sees efficiant combustion , feels more timing can be added safely then adds timing till inefficient combustion is detected

I would want it to have the ability to add timing at ALL rpm like the ZX3 does . If it is working properly then would it not be able to do both ?

and im guessing there isnt a way to do this on a predator so predator users must get a j&s?
