SCT Tune Question

Is there a option that will let them tune it for 89 octane as that is the cheaper fuel in my area of the world (north dakota/Minnesota) SInce it is E-10.

Yes, they can do an 89oct tune. But a 91-93oct tune will give better results and only cost on average $2-$2.50 more to fill up then with regular fuel. Tom's tune ftw. Oh, i thought all on road fuels are e-10 now. At least they are in michigan.

Speed = Money, and I agree, You're only looking at an additional few dollars per tank, and at a tank every 270+ miles It's totally worth it.

Problem is, finding higher than 89 is hard. only one or two stations cary 91/93. Yet all carry 89/87. With 89 being 10 cents cheaper.

i also forgot to add, i can get E85, would the SCT race tune allow me to use that, or is it really bad for the car to begin with to use E85. And it is a 30 mile round trip to the nearest staiton with higher than 89.

You shouldnt use e85. You have to "convert" your fuel system before using it, or the e85 will damage some stuff. IIRC, anything rubber gets destroyed. If i were you, i'd get the 89 and 91 tunes. Whenever you happen to make the 30 mile trip, get higher oct fuel, switch from your regular 89 tune to the 90, and enjoy that tank of fuel. Then switch back.
