problems datalogging

Tom i know if you read this you're going to be ready to strangle me but once again im still an idiot. I cant get the datalogging software from SCT to install on my computer. I have a SCT xcal2 and im trying to install the live link 4.41 data logging software from the SCT website. i dont have the old version on here but whenever i try to install it on my PC which has windows vista i get an error message which says "error 1721. there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action: InstallX3PlusJungo, location: ...\x3pdevice.inf" install" I then click ok on that window and the install wizard closes without finishing the installation. i am in the process of hooking nitrous up to my 2000 zx3 and i need to be able to use the data logger. i dont know what the problem is. please help!

Are you trying to install on a vista 64 bit machine? If so, it will not work and we do not have a timeframe for it to work. For vista 32 bit as long as you set it to install and run as admin it should be fine installing.

You are having a device issue, not a livelink problem which is what this thread is about.

As has been mentioned before, tom sends his X3 devices WITHOUT THE TUNE FILE. HE then EMAILS YOU THE FILE. The error you are getting on the device itself is for no custom file which means you need to get a hold of tom and have him email you your tune file. You then use the X3LWUpdater program from our website (NOT livelink...) to load that file to your device. Once that is done you should be all set.
