Silicone hoses

Hey guys, I found a full set of silicon hoses. I know some crown vics used silicon hoses, but I was wondering if any of you guys have used silicone hoses and had any benefits or issues. I'd be using it as a kind of dress up thing, but with good benefits I assume.

Pro vs con

Pro-
They do not dry out like conventional rubber. They don't turn brittle. They don't soften if you drip fuel or most solvents on them. They last a LONG time.

Con-
Cost. They allow a very small percentage of water to seep through them (something like a half pint in 20K miles or so.) You can NOT allow even the smallest nick or abrasion to happen, it will continue as a tear.

I put a set in two years ago = so far so good.
