Umm.. . You are 21 years old. Do you own a house, if so if you use the same insurance company for home and auto you usually get a price break. Last but not least, what are your deductibles set at? $100? $200, $500? It makes a difference.

21 y/o and i pay a little over 4k a year with State farm...no accidents (thank god) and i only had 1 speeding ticket, but it didn't count against me since they let me have a 2 point leeway (sp?)

*note - the speeding ticket i got was with my father's durango some 6-7 months before i even had the svt...damn those newark cops and their speed traps -_-

and this is for a used SVT (a brand new one would probably raise my rates) that's under my father's name with me as a secondary driver...

It sucks being a young male driver in NJ :(

I am 38 and I currently pay $170 a month through Progressive but I am getting ready to change companies and it will go down to $118 a month, that's with one speeding ticket which will fall off in about 4 months (got it in my Grand Prix GTP).

I pay 89/month full coverage through AAA & Progressive drive. I was paying @160/month with State Farm.

I was told that if you have airbags in the seats, like mine, it costs a lot more to insure.

WD, I got a discount for having the airbags too...

I wonder why they would charge you MORE for having more safety features? When I told them it had the side air bags, the woman said o ok, that will help lower the cost. (she said it lowered it about as much as having ABS does)

yeah, they told me they cost so much to fix if they blow, that they charge a higher rate. I think they said that the letter R in your vin is what distinguishes it and sets their computer off...

I thought it was stupid too... so I switched companies

$550/ 6 months…. I’m 23. And in response to the initial post… I don’t think they know what a SVT is. I got in a $3000 accident last year (my rate has actually gone down) and they initially tried to quote the repairs for my car using old ZX3 parts. So I instead brought it to the Ford dealer and they ordered all new parts.
