strange noise coming from rear
I have noticed (mainly) in stop and go, as i coast down from a low speed a strange noise coming from the rear. It almost sounds like a hand saw cutting wood slowly. It speeds up as my speed increase and slows as my speed decreases. The reason I say its at low speeds because the noise gets drowned out by my aftermarket exhaust and I can't hear it as distinctively going fast as I can slow.

I don't see any abnormal wear on the tires (as in rubbing on something) so I think it has to be something with the either the left or right side bearing? The weird part it is that it doesn't always happen, I tried taking a technician here at my work out for a spin and it made no noise.

What do you think?

I knew it was either that or the flux capacitor!

If it's a rear wheel bearing, it'll usually get louder when one side is weighted, or the other is. i.e. in a turn.

and it does not, I just figured it was because of the rotation factor...maybe has to do with my brakes, they haven't been changed in a few years but I don't have any problems/noises associated with braking.

stuck caliper?

Do this and it should go away

That sounds about right.

When I heard that noise before, it was the metal debris cover plate was bending towards the rotor and it turn was running against it for some odd reason. So, I bent it back.

The second time I heard it was because the rotors were warped and I have to get new ones.

Or the brake pads have some dirt between the pad and the rotor.

I know what you are talking about, because I get it sometimes. Lots of AutoX-ing and you will get tons of weird noises after running. lol.

I determined it has something to do with the rear brakes. The noise goes away when I brake.

I haven't had time to take the wheels off yet and take a look, hopefully I will be able to fix it when I swap on the good ol' snow tires.
