Rear wheel drive conversion.

So I had a hypothetical question that maybe someone on here could answer.

Would it be possible/worth it to convert the focus st to rear wheel drive? I'd want to stick with the ecoboost 2.0 and possibly use the tranny and drive train from an ecoboost mustang.

I know most of you are thinking "trade in the focus and get a mustang" but I love the focus and the four doors makes life easier with kids.

Thanks for any help.

Anything is possible.

But realistically. No. You can't package the engine longitudinally, and you'd need RS hardware to even think about having the rear wheels driven (including the RS fuel tank). You might be able to "bulk up" the RS hardware and disconnect the front drivetrain (with some heavy modification both to hardware and SW), but you'd have to deal with the transverse RWD configuration. No way you are changing the position of the engine.

It's not like it can't be done, V8 MkI Focus conversions were fairly popular and now a couple have gone back to 4 cyl. as they did in Europe.

Practical to do? Not.

There are all sorts of automotive swapping going on and playable on Utube.
The guys doing it seem confident and like this is easy..
A front drive to rear dive is one more of those things.
As written, it just takes a lot of money (if you do not personally have the skills)
