New ST owner.. life ruined ?

So I got a new 2016 Grey ST3

20,500 price alone
Added warranty + tax + fees
Brought it to
23,500
Plus remainding car loan of 2200 brought it too
26,000 nearly.

The car payments isn't bad at all. Nearly same as my SE was.
It's the insurance that I'm afraid about. My SE was insured for $400 a month..

The new insurance for an ST is a whopping 525 a month. That's ******t bullshit for only two tickets. I've seen guys with DUIs have less than me...
I don't think at age 21 I should be paying nearly 1k a month th for a car. I can do it yes but it just seems like a huge waste. I've already signed all the papers EXCEPT the loan agreement which needs my dads signature too since he's the primary signer of the loan. Is there anyway I can cancel this decision... since he hasn't signed.
Either way I'd be happy but I rather just wait a war or two with safe driving before getting a new car... this dealership seemed sketchy also. Thanksgiving rip me.

all depends on what the tickets are for??

have your father as primary and you as secondary on the car should help on the cost of the insurance

=o ok..

as for backing out you can talk with the dealer and see what they say.. they may have a cancellation fee.. but it all depends sometimes you will find a dealer that will allow you to back out some wont.. doesn't hurt to ask..

sometimes its cheaper to pay a penalty then to continue.. but its all dependent on the person in the situation..

If $125/mo. ruins your life, you're already spending too much on having a car.

You also should have checked Ins. prices with other companies, but having tickets doesn't help. Many on here had a REDUCTION in cost for the ST vs. a MkIII. Three years newer can cost more by itself though.

Deals aren't over until cash changes hands, but you might lose an initial payment made. Give 'em $50 on signing to complete the deal?

First, you should have checked insurance before going to buy the car. Lesson learned for you, young man ;)

As for backing out of the deal, each state is different. Seeing as you are in the People's Republik of Mass, I'm willing to bet there is some law governing this sort of thing and that you can walk away. Check with the DMV or Consumer Protection office. And don't let the dealer bullshit or intimidate you. In reality, is it any different than if you could not get financing? How would you buy the car if the bank told you to pound sand? Can't buy a car with nothing.

I was in that industry for years and people walked all the time for various reasons. At the end of the day, what are they going to do? Sue a 21 year old kid either no assets and force him to buy a 22K car? Not worth the dealers time.

Is your Dad aware he's the co-signer?..lol.

My son did the same thing to me which pissed me off when "He Decided" he needed a new truck. It was a 2004 toyota p/u like new for 9K. He's 25 now and just paid it off.

I agreed, but threatened to dis-own him from my will if he ****** up my credit.

My PROTIP is I think you need to wait and find a better deal OR wait till your tickets drop off before you go looking for a new car.

I'm sure your Dad will agree.

BTW I have 3 boys 25, 23, and 19.

Where did I say 125 lol?
I said $1000 a month .

Also yeah I'm about to break the news to my dad soon lol. I also did call insurance before hand. But everything was going smooth and the day after it hit me more. That it's a huge waste. Yes call me naive but atleast I sat there for a solid 3-4 hours arguing with the salesman lowering price and getting higher trade in otherwise I'd be even more screwed lol. Ima just have to do 700 monthly payments which is double . Get the car paid off in 2.5 years and hope for the best.

That or if I can cancel that would also be great. A car shouldn't raise your insurance $150 a month.... like really ? That mhxh? A 16 year old boy doesn't even pay $500 a month.. they're about 400. My gf offers to pay my entire insurance a month but I rather her not do that lol that's way too nice plus I'd feel like a ***** accepting her money like that 😁
