ahh remember any ST can be a ST1 ST2 Tt3
The original new car price range from a basic ST1 to a fully loaded ST3 bridges $10,000.
So.. That 'ST' at the local dealer..
Which is it?
ST1
ST2
ST3
?
It matters..

Dealer offered me $7000 trade for my 2012 against a used 2014 ST1 I was showing mild interest in last fall as he said the 5 speed is a bit desirable and I only had 30k on the odo and is near mint condition.

Yea, I think ST3 Foci currently have the highest values. But that would have to do with most of them having MSRPs in the 30,000's...

Only got $8500 for my 2014 red SE with leather, moon roof, and a sport appearance package and just over 36,000 miles. Sucked donkey doo but I wanted a truck.

'14 was a high production/long year for the Focus, and SE's were going cheap - even if the cheap ones didn't have all those extras the used price reflects the low end more than the high.

According to kbb, for what its worth, my excellent 2014 with 20k, 5 spd, sport pkg, is worth 6,742-7,649 trade. 9k private sale. Low but then again I bought it new for 5k off at 15K.
I'd try to sell it here first as I think the 5 spd and sport pkg is desirable to those who like foci.
But I plan to keep it until its old, then sell it to one of my kids. But I am tempted to trade for a ST all the time. Or was until I got a speeding ticket last month, maybe I don't need worse mileage and any more power with a minor improvement in handling.

I've actually got planned to junk the car (when it's time) and pull the motor. Build it into a bad a$$ race motor for the cars like Esslinger performance builds motors for (midgets). An event i attended last week in Oklahoma, has a wide range of engine usage and a friend of mine used a motor out of a junkyard CR-V with 130k on it. Paid 600 for the junkyard motor then had it built. So why not a focus motor?! Lol

I was in a similar situation a few weeks ago. After buying an SE a few months prior, I fell in love with the ST. Found an ST that I liked and had to sell my SE private party just to make enough to release the lien. The $2,500.00 I put down on the SE is gone and I will never see the other $1,500.00 I put on it in modifications. But.... at least I have an ST now and didn't give the dealer the chance to tack negative equity onto it by refusing their lowball trade offer.

Smart. My 32k pickup is costing me 40k plus interest. Yuck but worth it.

Problem is, I have a salesman friend who told me a 2015 SE with 32,xxx was valued at 7,000 the other day. So I don't see it even coming close to doable!

Thats a bad move= just tacking on what you owe to the cost + interest, specially that amount.
