2015+ refresh vs 2013-14 FoST - What Changed?

Hey Guys,

Just got a great deal on a very lightly used '13 FoST.

I want to know if anyone has figured out what the exact changes are for the 2015+ models are.

Has anyone actually replicated these changes on a pre-2015 FoST?

Results?

Found this Car and Driver review for the '15 FoST

The 15 is considered the mk3.5 because it had an appearance change... Different exterior trim and the interior got a few upgrades. The car frame and what not is the same but as for appearance mods go, the 15+ and pre 15 have very few things that will swap over

I'd swap over the s/w for the flat bottom one.

According to that C&D article, the subframe was stiffened as well as some suspension fine tuning...really speaking to this.

Nah, I like the round steering wheel - as usual Felix, you come up with something from other side :)

As soon as I saw pictures of the 2015 I ran out and ordered a 2014 while I could.

The 2015 does have slight sheet metal changes. The front look is better at the hood, and worse at the bumper. IMO.
The sides stay the same.. Except you can see the tail lights are shortened, and the gas cover no longer lines up with the tail light.
The rear is really ugly on the 2015. Turning an interesting integrated design into a bland POS design (again my opinion.)

The frame is stiffened slightly.

The interior is the same except for the steering wheel. THe original sterng wheel was round and small. he 2015+ is from the Fusion. The 2015 has a squared off bottom, and is a little larger.

I like the 2014 (and 2013) much better.

Yep - agree about the front end styling, it looks better.

But yeah, I catch your drift. It's a nice ride all the same :)

I've owned both.

2015ST has bigger brakes and upgraded suspension too.

Stiffer ride than a 2014ST and handles better IMO.

The interior is not the same. Big differences.

Sad to hear it, but all good. I'm pretty happy with this wilder version - not 100% predictable isn't always a bad thing!

Yep, center console is definitely more adult-ish. Flat bottomed steering wheel, I can live without. Plus that SYNC 3 which I hear is super fast...

Still, my '13 ST-3 is as fully loaded as I need. I can do without the steering wheel warmers as long as my body is fully locked into the seats during hard cornering :)

I do like the exterior lighting, especially the new front end of the '15+ cars.
