Maybe my fellow ST owners can help me

Just totaled my car a month ago and I'm shopping for another ST. Got it down to two near me but there are some pros and cons to both.

2014 Red ST - ST3 package w/moonroof
15k miles
$20,500 after all tax, tags, title etc.
Pros: it has moonroof which my hold one had and only 15k miles
Cons: it's RED

2015 Black ST - ST3 package no moonroof
23k miles
$22,250 after all tax, tags, title etc.
Pros: its got the new body style, it's black
Cons: 8k more miles and $1750 more.

I really don't like red. But financially it makes sense to spend less and get a car with less miles and a moonroof. Am I better off getting that and dealing with the red (maybe get it painted). Or pay a little more for the newer body style, color I actually want, and screw a moonroof. How negligible are 8k miles?

Obviously this is subjective but.. just want to see what other people think

What are the other options...ST-1, 2 or 3? I think you can do better on price on both if you look further, but I understand about your car being totaled and wanting to get a replacement.

I just bought a 2013 ST-2 with 19k miles with sunroof and the color I wanted (tangerine Scream) for a good bit less than the 2013 you are looking at...I saw several for about the same price I paid and similar mileage, but I also looked nationwide and found one in PA that is being shipped to me as we speak.

8k miles are negligible compared to TWO YEARS newer.

Plus plenty of miles on a recent car say that they were put on quick in Hwy. driving. Less abuse in general than local miles over more years.

Updated post to include info
actually a 2014 red ST
both ST3 packages
These are actually the absolute best prices im finding for cars with this low miles
also note this is the complete price, after state tax, dmv fees, etc.

The red ST is a 2014 :(. So only 1 year newer.
I mistyped.

I think the 2015 is a better buy, but I would go with the 2014 because I like the body style better.

Me too^^^^^ Do you like the '15+ or not? I'd open up your search to nation wide. I've mentioned that before to different ppl. I wouldn't jump on the 1st few cars, as there's always going to be one for sale. Molten orange should be a fost color.

I agree..I always start out looking close to home, but end up looking 100 miles out, then 500, then nationwide. It really helps with negotiating also...when you know there are cars out there cheaper...I don't feel pressured into buying the car. I have bought 2 cars in the last 3 months and every time I talked to a dealer, after I don't agree to their one sided terms, they say, "I can't guarantee the car will be here tomorrow"...I always reply, then it wasn't meant to be and there are always cars for sale.

I am in Savannah, GA...I bought my ST in Erie, PA, my BMW in Atlanta, and my previous BMW in Daytona Beach FL...I almost had a deal done in CA a few months ago, but they wouldn't come down another $250...so I walked. I enjoy the "game" of buying cars, so it isn't emotional to me...I look at it like I would anything else...weigh the pros and cons and make the best decision I can with factoring in shipping costs if necessary and the dreaded Doc Fees!
