What if the dealer bought the car at auction and is selling it? What do they know about the car then?

Thats where a certified vehicle comes in.....
But when did you ever get money back AFTER a deal is complete?
We all know they don't, lol

They wouldn't, as compared to what Mike found. If you know one thing about Mike, is he always finds mint vehicles. If Mike saw & checked a car out you can bet its good to go.

The ST is either babied or hooned/modded IMO. I bought a 2015 ST1 brand new for 20K OTD in May of 2015 and babied it for 1.5 years. Garaged. Never saw winter. It was immaculate when I traded it in. Only had 7K on it.

Got 20K in trade value for it when we bought the RS. The kid who bought it 2 days later (my sales guy had a buyer already) paid 23K OTD lol.

My point is...find a guy like me who has a babied ST and do the deal.

A dealer could care less about the "unit" they're about to sell you.

Look under the hood, suspension, and exhaust area for signs of mods. Check bolts/nuts look for tool marks.

What if the car you're buying from the dealer was a modded ST returned to original before trading it in?

$23k for a 7000 mile year old ST is a pretty good deal but I would've haggled it down another $1000.

"I'm glad I had the ST looked at by our technician. It ends up the resonator is still on the vehicle and bypasses the stock muffler, which was removed."

This make sense to anyone? Looking at an ST that looks to have an aftermarket exhaust and this is what they told me. Still can't give me a definitive answer as to what it is. Tips are not stock though.

There are so many different exhaust systems out there. Swapping out exhaust isn't uncommon. A quick look at the tips tells you.

ive explained this to them multiple times

in response to the most recent time ive asked them to look at the tips I got

"There are no markings on the exhaust tips. It's a Ford stock exaust. We've all looked. Honest"

the exhaust definitely isn't stock. Looks to have 3-4" tips on it.

Haven't seen your picture, stock tips are unique looking on an ST. Won't be 3-4" round ones.

Earlier comment adds up to removal of the resonator in the middle of the car. Which piece gets called resonator or muffler varies with who is telling the tale. All that matters is that they claim the rear section is stock and teh center piece to quiet it down is missing/replaced with straight pipe.

Just to confirm, the ST's that come with the stripes it is vinyl and can be removed right? None of the came painted from the factory. Same with the mirrors, Vinyl can be removed to reveal the cars base color.
