How often do you change your oil?

Alright, I am cheating again. This is not for an ST, but an Escape with the 2.0L Ecoboost engine

I figure is close enough to get an idea. I have not got the car yet, but I want to make a schedule of how soon I should change the Oil. I do 85% city driving, and I want to use full Synthetic and stay within the warranty

Do you think every 10K miles is often enough? I want to use full synthetic to help reduce the Ecoboost Valve fouling "issue", as apparently using synthetic + good gas can reduce it drastically

If valve deposits are your major concern, I'd move up to a Group V ester, like Redline, which have a higher flash point and low NOACK. Change it when the OLM tells you to. That may be +/- 10K depending on your driving habits.

I'm convinced that gas has any major impact on this issue, but running quality, high detergent gas can help with piston & injector deposits.

I'm currently using Mobil1 and changing every 5K. I make frequent short trips and often drive in high heat.

(I'm chuckling to myself: "Oh Jeez, not another oil thread..") But here goes...

I would suggest changing it as often as you want. Whatever makes you happy.

Some folks like to change oil every 3,000 miles, and for a new car, at the first 1,000 miles.
Others like to make oil last as long as possible, getting the oil tested to see how much life is left, and brag they go 15,000 miles or more between oil changes.
Some folks swear on an obscure brand of oil, claiming it is better with obscure codes you have to Google to figure out.
Then filters.. same thing.
And viscosity.. A few folks still think heavier is better NOT, at least if you want to keep your warranty. Use the exact viscosity Ford says, nothing else.

My advice is do what you want. (within reason) If it makes you happy that is the best.
For me, with my current car engine, (which has the tight tolerances of modern engines) I am going with a 5,000 mi change. This is every 8 months for me.

In old cars, with 'dirtier; engines, the 3,000 miles was better.
In my 2014 ST, I do not 'need' to change the oil at 5,000mi. But I like it being really fresh. So, for me, 5,000 mi change makes me happy.
I use Mobil One, and the stock OEM Motorcraft filter, though I do cheat a bit and use the FL400, which is the same diameter, but longer than the stock filter. It is the same price, but has a little more media, and more volume.

You may as well be saying that sandblasting via vacuum inlet is a great way to clean the valves and piston tops of your engine.
If you think sandblasting via vacuum inlet is a good idea.. You should start your own thread about it. Rather than trying to sneak it into a thread about changing oil.

And yes my response totally misstates and misquotes your post. Naturally this is because you did the same to me.

Your response is actually pretty funny it it's own way. LOL

Again, you should quit posting your opinions. Seriously. You didn't even take the time to read my posts.
