UPDATE: Well after spending at least 8 total hours at the dealer and trying multiple dealers to try and fix the issue I fixed the problem in under an hour on my own. Basically there are plastic bushings that go around the bar in the seat much like a swaybar does. These bushings were pretty much dry resulting in me feeling the seat move back and forth smoothly if it was properly lubricated. So I was able to figure this out, remove the seat, and bushings totally properly lube them and have the seat back in the car in UNDER 1 HOUR. Seriously I don't know how the ford techs could not figure this out but I wasted a total of more than 8 hours of my time only to be told that nothing was wrong. I have since sold the car and Ford will not be getting any of my business anytime soon, because if they cant properly diagnose and fix a simple seat issue there is no way I would want them touching anything else on my car under warranty. I have some pictures of the bushings before and after I properly lubed them which I will try and upload later.

I popped my head underneath the seat the other day and noticed the bushings you mentioned. Thanks for confirming what I suspected, I suppose a seat removal is on my to-do list for this weekend. I understand your frustration, it is getting harder these days to find actual mechanics that can properly diagnose issues. Everyone just wants to throw parts at the problem until it gets fixed.

Two things.. Agree: Ford does NOT make the seats. They buy them. So the only recourse Ford warranty really has is replace the seat.
The second thing is The ST is not the average Ford car. The Recaro seats are unique. A dealer might NEVER have had a single one in on a warranty claim.
So they do not know them. The same might be true of the regional Ford guy.

When you have a rare item, you need to realize most Ford dealers have no clue.
LOOK at how many ST get the wrong oil?? Even something as simple as oil is a confusing mess.
So I say give Ford a break. Yeah they SHOULD all be perfect... (are you?)

Long story short, I also fixed the issue via the same method the original poster stated.
