Fuel capacity drove me nuts originally, but I got used to it. My understanding is that due to emissions laws in the US we don't get the "added capacity" that European cars get using the same tank (something about off gassing, fumes, or something way over my head technically).

The turning radius is crappy, but most cars I've driven have crappy turning radiuses so I don't think I've noticed as much. I've never driven a regular Focus, which I'm to understand has a waaay better radius!

And to be honest the lack of a limited slip diff is a non-issue. The ST has way less torque steer than my 2007 Saab 9-3 Aero did (with the 2.6L Turbo V6 that made 255 HP so similar power and size to the ST).

I prefer mechanical grip vs using the electronics. With a diff you'll really notice more forward bite on, center off. Ford could of had a 14-15 gallon tank if they really wanted to, yea it would of came at additional weight cost.

Difference for ST/MkIII from Euro is in the size of the vapor canister taking up some of the same space as the tank.

Oh yeah, no clue how that could have slipped my mind. I don't know if it's the very low stance or just the physics of the design, but I've never, ever had a vehicle literally attract road debris like a magnet. So many chips here and there....knock on wood, all small, but just as aggravating.

I don't like it, but I understand the turning radius being a byproduct of the larger, wider wheel tire combo compared to other Focii....my F150, granted a 2wd, had a much smaller turning radius.

The go-pedal spacer I installed made a massive difference and I'm getting much better with my heel-toe....in dress shoes no less.

Still love my FoST though....just like women, no such thing as perfect, all about what you are willing to accept for all the upside
