I was the same engufgne. The dealer wouldn't move on the MSRP and none of the holiday specials are for the ST and I did not meet the requirements for any of the plans. They ended up giving me about $1000 over KBB for my trade and I payed MSRP for my ST3 with moonroof. At least I got 1.49% through Penfed for the loan.
Make that 2. I have a 2012 Titanium with handling package I'm looking at trading for an ST2 w/o options. I really miss a manual transmission! Sent in an email application for X-Plan this morning.
I traded in a 2012 Titanium with 10500 miles and got my ST3 for 3300 off sticker. I bought my 12 Titanium used too with 4k miles. I am not sure but thats about the best deal I have ever got on a car. as far as the 3300 off sticker, better then A plan for sure. Look at it from a percentage standpoint which is what all fords plans are.
Yes they do. Its all outlined on the sales order when they write it up. Shows exactly what you are paying for the new one..what taxes and other fees. If you put money down and if you have any positive or negative equity in your trade. I had 1000 positive to apply towards my st along with 5000 cash down.
Dang nobody believes me.....sticker was 29825 and I got my car for 26495.....so that is actually 3330 off MSRP. I have the window sticker. I may have to just scan in my sales form.
They actually emailed me that price and I had to haggle with them on my trade. Regardless I dont know many people getting that kind of deal on an ST, there are a few, I did a huge search and found a few, bit too far for me to deal with. This was a local dealer who knew I purchased 3 other cars from their biggest competitor in the last 2 years. So they went aggressive to get me in there. While at that dealer I Was on the phone with the other dealer working a deal on another identical car and working them hard. If they know you are serious they will deal, especially on the last day of the month!
I believe you, I just wanted to be sure you were getting that price off the MSRP. 3300 sounds like a great deal but if they were marking up their car to begin with then it wasn't any loss for them, if you see what I mean.
Glad to hear someone getting such a sweet deal though, guess I'll haggle before throwing the X-plan out there to see if I can do better or not.
Just messing had a lot of people give me crap over my price. But very pleased with it!!! Best of luck to you on the shopping. If you can shop between two local dealers and let them duke it out thats playing a little dirty but thats the name of the game. Just make sure the cars are identical! Stay firm and dont be afraid to walk out. I tried to leave twice and both times they came back and the deal was better!
The dealerships around here are pretty decent, both have great ratings when it comes to sales and neither of them try the traditional tactics. When I went for my '12 SEL I pretty much had the ball in my court at all times, I was able to wiggle and negotiate price pretty well and ended up with (at the time) a pretty good deal, they gave me over KBB value on my Mazdaspeed 3 (with one accident on record, and some shoddy bodywork that never got resolved) and under MSRP on the Focus.
I actually just got back from having it serviced and afterwords took a test drive in an ST3 they had on the lot, talked to the same salesman and got an initial idea of the numbers (of course at MSRP, I wasn't talking numbers today just getting an idea, so that will come down for sure). He must have known what I had in mind for the test drive because he gave me the key fob, told me to have fun, and that he'd talk to me when I get back, lol.
Man, I'm sold from the test drive though... I need to crunch the numbers big time.
