Catted downpipe and SES for cat inefficiency

Is anyone running a aftermarket catted downpipe and not getting a CEL for inefficient catalyst P0420/0430 codes. If you are what are you doing about it?

I am interested in the Steeda part when I get my ST and wondered about would you still get a CEL for P0420/0430.

Dave

it's been a guarantee on every single modern car that I've had that catless, highflow cats, etc. they have all required a tune. Mustangs, GTPs, GTOs, Focus, etc. they'll all need a tune. If you haven't you should consider it. You might not *need* a tune, but it's a possibility when you deviate from stock in that regard.

Legally no, passing an OBDII check with a tune revised around it, maybe.

Tampering with the emissions control devices on a certified road vehicle has technically always been illegal, but it's a matter of how seriously the EPA want's to enforce it when it has no direct powers of enforcement at the moment.
