That's not really true as it's been measured to provide cooler air into the air box, and the Ford Racing engineers have determined it's beneficial and useful with their calibration along with the colder spark plugs.

It's also available for much less than the suggested MSRP.

The kit is not available sans filter, but the filter can always either be sold on afterwards to anyone else with a 2012+ Focus or Focus ST, or can be kept for the day when you will need to clean the other one, that way you can always have one cleaned and oiled ready to go rather than having to switch to a paper one for the 24 hours or so that it should sit before reinstalling it (well at least several hours at any rate).

I'd say hold off on the power adders. Fix the "issues" with the car.

Most people would say get an intercooler, limited-slip diff, and intake before adding a tune.

Personally I'm a upgrade the chassis first, driveline second, engine and transmission last type of guy. Need to be able to stop and handle all the power before you make it.

Quite true - that's my philosophy too.

For now, I'm getting the FSWERKS short shifter plate.

Brake pads are in the works - HDPE coming up in February.

On the fence on getting a RMM - COBB and a few others have them, in my ZX3 - I put in a CFM Poly Race mount which increased vibrations quite a lot. But this engine has the same problem -- I'm concerned that my RMM is already blown out..haven't crawled under the car to check yet.

I'll see how the car performs then with that baseline, I'll have a better handle of what I really want to do moving forward. Rather than going down the upgrade first route...
