VCT Delete...

Hey Tom, when I talked to you today on the phone, I mentioned I had Mikes VCT Delete. He bought a new cam gear bolt but didnt cut it yet. How much do I cut off, 1/2"?? If I got ARP Cam gear bolts (so I dont have the stupid inverted torx) I'd have to cut that as well, right? Couldnt I just use a ZETEC/ ZX3 intake cam bolt??

Me and crazymechanic on here are going to do a ring job with a .080" SCE Copper head gasket to help my car limp til the motor is done....provided the pistons are still in one peice.

Would you write down the instructions for seting the vct...I get the part about advancing all the way to the max, I assume thats with the T Belt tensioned, but then, you said tighten the bolts, then set cam gear to 0*. I just dont get it...I guess I'll have to call you while Im doing this...

Yes its called LEARNING THROUGH CONVERSATION.

My communications are not personal, hence not using personal messages. Down the road, someone may want to do my exact procedures and a simple search will give the answer needed.

How many of your 7,000 + posts contributed to a thread? I certainly see two that dont.

WD40 I'm deleting the VCT, so its a different procedure!
