what the heck?

do they not put locks for the bearings in the mains and rods? we had a 2.3L focus come in my shop becuase it spun a bearing and no wonder it spun there were no locks...





or am i just trippin.?

Locks in bearings are not there to keep the bearings from spinning there there to make sure the bearings are installed properly in both halfs. What keeps the bearings from spinning is the crush fit when the both pieces are TQ down

so... the locks on rod and mains are so the can put the bearing in correctly and they are not because the bearing will spin when the block heats up and expands. wow..


i have always thought that locks were so the bearing doesnt spin but i must have been mistaken
