Tom's STG1 turbo piping...

I keep blowing the charge piping apart under boost, so I'm ordering a handfull of t-bolt clamps. I just don't recall what sizes to order...

I remember two different sizes of piping that came in the kit. I think one size is 3". Then there's a smaller size. Does anyone know?

Here's the sizes of t-bolt clamps I can get...
Quote:
Clamp 1.50" -- Range 1.750" to 2.000"

Clamp 2.00" -- Range 2.000" to 2.370"

Clamp 2.25" -- Range 2.310" to 2.620"

Clamp 2.50" -- Range 2.560" to 2.870"

Clamp 2.75" -- Range 2.780" to 3.090"

Clamp 3.00" -- Range 3.030" to 3.340"

Clamp 3.25" -- Range 3.280" to 3.600"

Clamp 3.50" -- Range 3.500" to 3.800"

Clamp 3.75" -- Range 3.750" to 4.100"
So should I be getting the 2.00" and the 2.75"? Or the 1.5" and the 3.00"? Or....?

TIA! :)

Im glad you posted over here , Use stock type clamps , take the hoses and pipes off and clean them with some type fast drying carb cleaner and LIGHTLY sand the piping just where the hose goes on , this will cure all your issues

Oil and paint is what causes this , Im running 32psi with stock type clamps and i never blow them

Tom

Bash you? Wow, Tom, you're quick to get defensive. I've never bashed you. A guy simply asked what mods where needed to make a ZX3 kit fit an SVT. I just happen to have experience in that situation, so I posted. I never talked shit about your product, I never said anything bad about you. I actually think you are an extremely talented tuner and fabricator. On FJ, I simply stated I was shipped something by mistake. Nothing more, nothing less.

I have put everything to bed a long time ago. I'm happy with my setup. I'm happy with how the car is running. I have no regrets about anything. But if you really want to cranky, I'll get cranky with you. I have a long list of complaints that I have always kept to myself. But if you want to go there, by all means, let's go there!

If there is issues with my kit that need fixing i want to hear about them , I have allways said i have nothing to hide

You said
"My svt kit started out as a stg 1 Focus-Power kit, but nothing fit (we suspect i recieved zx3 piping by mistake). So we hacked it all up and now she's running great.

You stated in the same post 17 post later
"I have an SVT. Ordered Tom's stage 1. Nothing fit properly aside from the manifold. Turned out he sent me ZX3 parts by mistake.
So yeah... the manifold is the only part we didn't have to modify to make it fit.

If i read more into it that i should of im sorry but seeing it 2 times in the same post over and over again then you asking for help just kind of rubbed me the wrong way , 1 Phone call to send you the correct piping that i had sitting here would of been much easier but i was never given the chance to fix the problem , Now you say there was other issues that needed addressing and havent said anything about all this time

Im not perfect if something is an issue and needs addressing i would (in a kind way) like to know about it

Again im sorry , what are the complaints

1) Took to long to get the kit
2)?

Tom

Like I said before, i have no problems with your work. I have no problems with your product. Yes, we had to do a lot of custom work to get the kit to fit, but that's not my complaint either. We actually had a ton of fun spending the weekend in the shop putting it all together!

I had a few complaints, early last year, but put them to bed, as I've said before. It has been a non-issue. Until you got defensive and posted this:

This is a complete lie! I did tell you that the kit was wrong, and you acknowledged that. You offered a free tune to make up for it. Do you not recall any of this? But when I accepted your free tune, and sent you the info about my car, you never ended up sending me anything. Complaint number one, since you asked.

Secondly, yeah, it took way too long to get the kit. I didn't recieve the product for several months. I told you up-front I wanted your kit because I was on a tight schedule, and needed the car running by a certain date. You said no problem, and that you'd start working on the piping right away. My due date came and went, with nothing from you - turns out it was finished long ago, but you had lost my contact info.

All stuff that doesn't even matter anymore, but since you asked...

And finally, I found you damn near impossible to get information from. i had question upon question for you about the kit, about tuning, about shipping. most emails went unanswered. the few you did answer were one-liners, not responding with the info I was asking for. after a while i found the only way to get info from you was to send multiple emails, with just one question each. i know you're extremely busy, but come on! You would think someone dropping a couple thousand dollars in your lap would be a bit more of a priority. The whole process was very frusterating.

Again, stuff that is no longer an issue. But you asked.

For the record, I'll say it yet again. I don't hold any grudges against you. I think your products are outstanding. I have never, and will never, bad-mouth your product. I am pleased with how things turned out in the end. And that's all that matters now, right?

If my posts on FJ came off as a bash, I appologize. They were never meant to be that way.
