Since Toms one of the best Focus FI tuners out there I felt this would be a good place to ask this question.

Is there any advantage of using a MAP over a MAF?

I know alot of companies use the MAP on their FI vehicals and that Ford runs the MAF---- I figure thats why you use it since everything is there for you to tune already.

I dont plan on changing out my MAF, sometimes I just have these wierd questions pop into my head

PS: The SVT is doing GREAT!!!! I love that intake.

MAP just measures the air flow in a different way, but it also eliminates the restriction of the MAF meter in the intake piping. personally I don't think it'll make a huge difference, but it does give you more options of where to mount your BOV since airflow is calculated off of manifold pressure and IAT. you don't have to worry about venting metered air

mainly from what i know is that map is easier to tune but is not as accurate when tuning. also many say in the long run you will aquire more power through map systems

also... blowthrough or not?

It comes down to preference more than anything. If it has a MAF use it if it does not i would add one for the trouble

There is very very small Diff both ways and all in all they will both make the same power.
