Duratec stroker/stock stroke big bore short blocks

I am in the works to do a steel billet crank theese will cost in the 1400 to 1600 range

I looking to see how serious people are about a steel crank for the Dura engine both 2.0 and 2.3

Those that are i will require a 50% deposit up front and Bal when cranks are finished , If i put out the money for these thay will be in the 1800 range later

I am looking to do a stroker and a stock stroke

If we can get 6 or more the price could drop by 200 or more

Here it is now lets see how many truely want to make power with the Dura engine

Tom

This is the plan

2.0 will be offered
2.3 by adding the 2.3 stock crank to the 2.0 block and custom rods and forged pistons
2.5 by adding larger sleeves and the stock crank custom rods and forged pistons

2.3 will be offered
2.3 steel crank custom rods and pistons
2.5 either larger sleeves steel or stock crank custom rods and forged pistons
2.? steel crank custom rods forged pistons

We will also be offering the blocks with larger sleeves if you want to do a engine build your self and the cranks by there self

For easy math on HP TQ will be much much more take the HP your making now 160 divided it by the 2.0/2.3 what ever you now have then X the size of the engine you are looking at

like this 160HP divided by 2.0 = 80 then times the size your going to 2.5 = 200HP add into this cams , ported head , and you could see an easy 240hp and about 220TQ at the wheels on 91 , THIS IS QUICK MATH AND ONLY TO GET IDEAS AS TO GAIN all Foci will be Diff but this is close

Our goal on this engine is over 800 with our turbo kit and i think we can do it and keep it street legal

Tom

Any chance for a stroker for the SVT..... I'd MUCH rather give you the 1400-1600 as opposed to the 2300 for the crower crank.

EDIT: regaurdless that is a GREAT price

I am deffinately interested, gonna be a few months before I have the money though............. But if I do the math like shown above it doesn't seem to be that much of an increase. 2.3 divided by 150 is 65.2. Than times 65.2 by 2.5 and it equals 163 ????????????

^Yeah but then you add on the cams and the ported head and you'll get a rough estimate for the power.

You are correct at 150HP the numbers are not there and it wouldnt be worth it but lets say your at 175HP X 2.6 = 198HP thats 23HP gain and i would say 30pound foot of tq same thing making 200HP X 2.6 = 226HP

Now for the 2.0 guys making 160HP then going to a 2.6 =208 thats almost a 50HP gain

What we are looking at is a 4.000 inch stroke from the 3.700 that we now have going to a 4 inch stroke will up the TQ big time and as you guys know i like TQ

All this wont be cheap and in the long run i think more people will make better power just going to a turbo kit , But here is a little food for thought to the guys that want a built engine and going turbo also 300HP 2.0 X 2.6 will see roughly a 90HP gain with the same boost

Speed cost money how fast do you want to go

Tom

True this will be a TRUE billet crank that would take an easy 1000+HP or for the NA guys hold some very high RPM

So, would this be all you need engine internals-wise to get some big boost? and not blow your engine...
