a few questions about setting up my engine for a turbo.

down the road, way down the road im planning on getting the stage 2 turbo kit, but until then, as i get money i want to set up my enginr for it, so what do i need as far as mods, like which cams should i run, should i change heads and intake manifolds and which ones, should i run a udp or not, should i buy a catback exhaust or get a custom one with the turbo, basically im asking what should i put on my car to get the most out of a turbo kit and what shouldnt i put on because it needs to be removed with a turbo install.

well 1st of all your turbo is only as good as your internals. for 6 or 7 psi your stock internals should be fine. anything after that you're going to have to start buying forged. i would just save up instead of buying add ons and buy a good turbo kit and an engine kit....although that is rather pricy.

98gsxltd what your goal first of all... depends on what you want to get out of your focus is what you want to start changing parts. I'm running Tom's Full kit with stock internals, Stock Clutch and last dyno was 237hp at the wheels...

one thing i would say to start preping the car for turbo is change the stock flex and get a 3" cat-back if you can't afford it, then go 2.5" flexpipe and 2.5" cat-back.

Things to change.

1. stock flex pipe - Change to a 2.5" or 3.0"
2. stock cat-back - Change to a 2.5" or 3.0"
3. stock cams - Change to a adj cam. This will help with tunning.
4. stock thermostat- install a 180degree thermostat

Instruccion on how to install Turbo kits and extra info.

Hope this helps,
