TOM a quick ?

ok i tweaked the wastedgate a little and got 4 lbs nowinstead of the 2 i was getting, but someone told me that the problem sounds like the bypass valve that im using, its a bosch bypass vlave, you know those plastic ones. they said that it is probably not sealing or maybe it just wont hold as much pressure anymore. so im gonna see what i can do with the one i have for right now till i get a better one. do you think this could be the problem. oh and what kind of vaccum doesyour gauge read at idling or just costing down the road applying no throttle? mine is reading 20 lbs of vaccum. i dont know if that is normal or not. and is the turbo supposed to whistle at WOT or partial throttle? cause it really whistles now. it sounds awesome but i didnt know if that was normal. tweaking the wastegate as i did should hurt should it? now instead of the 7 lbs, that i was supposed to have it should get 9 lbs once i figure out problem.ok thanks

You can plug the BOV and see if boost goes up if it does not that that isnt your problem

ok well i took out BOV and pluged holes for it and i still didnt gain any pressure , i also started the car and got a can of starting fluid and went around all the joints in pipeing and bov connecting spots where the iat is in the charge pipe and sprayed it on them to see if it was leaking air and i would think the engine would rev up it had a leak cause the starting fluid would go in correct? well anyway no reving up so i am clueless at this point i dont what to check next or what i can do to figure out the problem. im gonna try and find one the those pressure things you were talkin about to check and see what it takes to open wastegate but other than that i dont know any info or suggestions at this point would be great. thanks

ok tom i bought a manual boost controller and put in the line with wastegate , and just adjusted it to the pressure i wanted which i have it set to 9 psi and took it for a spin and it seems to work just fine, ill have to have my tuner send me a new tune for the xcal2 but it runs good seems like maybe not getting enough fuel to the air ratio in first but pretty good after that. will be putting my 3" borla catback on here as soon as i get it in the mail. ill prolly wait till i get it on before i get new tune so he can factor that in too.
