Predator Vs. SCT question.

Hey there Tom, I got & installed your Predator tune at the end of April and have been really very pleased with it so far.

I was at a Focus get together and a discussion about tuning, SCT VS Diablo came up.

The shop we met at made this statement. I didn't know what to think about it, maybe it was just them trying pretty hard to sell the SCT...

Quote:
From what I got from my mechanic who ownes a 01 Lightning that had a Pred tune and the other owners of cars with the Predator it allows the car to add timing in cold weather when it sees cold intake temps where as SCT only allows a certain max, per tuner set and thats all it will take no more.
He just basically said that and pointed at some damaged pistons they had on the counter top. If you want that, then get a Predator. Pretty much summed up the statement.

What do you think? What would I possibly say to my friends that are still undecided on which product to go with after they hear something like that?

I would like to be able to call bullshit if this is infact bullshit. If its not BS then how much of a threat is it to my car???

Thanks

Nick

Tell everyone that who ever said that is a " MORON" and does not know what he is talking about

You can tell who ever said that there welcome to come in here and tell me all the BS they want , But they better be able to back it up , Thing is they wont because to say that to some one that knows how tuning realy works will make them look foolish

The Predator and the SCT both do exactly the same (as for the tuning) thing they load tunes nothing more , It is the tuner that comes up with the tunes that makes the diff

Thanks for the quick response Tom, ohh hey a few questions quick if you don't mind.

After I installed your tune,

Well I have traction control on my car, so umm,... does switching the button to make the light come on disable it, or is it the other way around? or what?

And for you, I see you do tuning with Diablo and some SCT stuff,

Why did you choose Diablo for the Focus?

Thanks again,

Nick

You will have a working TC switch that will turn on or off the TC as you need

I chose Diablo because it is MUCH easier to use
