boosted svt engine

ok tom got a few questions. first off, how much boost can the svt motor handle. i have no vct. i kno the rods are stronger but the higher compression isnt boost friendly...
2nd, i am looking to drop the compression to 8.6:1. now, just wanna clear this up, i read somewhere that if you put the zetec pistons in the svt the compression will be higher. my quesiton is, is that true or bs? if i buy 8.6:1 pistons i wanna run 8.6:1, not anything higher.

One last thing, for a temp solution to push more boost, would a thicker head gasket to lower compression be a decent idea? if i could get the svt down to like 9.5:1 or even 9:1. how much could the stock svt internals handle with that kind of compression? is it even a good idea? again, that would only be a temp solution till i got built internals...

thanx, hoping to get my kit together very soon so i'd really appreciate ur input!

how doy ou have an svt engine with no VCT? they didn't make any like this. maybe you mean you want to use tom's VCT eliminator...

the zetec pistons are lower compression than the svt pistons, so using zetec pistons will drop your compression a bit. a thicker head gasket can help to lower the compression, but not as much as you want it. that being said, I think tom's running over 300hp/300tq at the wheels out of his svt...tom, chime in and correct me if I'm wrong...

no i dont want to use toms eliminator. i dissabled and eliminated it myself.

also, he's making 300 on 110 octane isnt he? what about pump gas?
My biggest question is this, im not gonna put in zetec pistons then replace those later on with je's. i want to know if it is safe to run a thicker head gasket... i'd think that it woulnt be a good idea, i want to kno an oppinion. Also, how thick would the head gasket have to be to bring the svt down to 9:1?

once agian, isnt permanent, just temp so i can get boosted and save up more money for the built bottom end....

I dont think they make head gaskets to take u from 10:1 to 9:1 the last time i called all they could do for me is going from 10:8:1 to maybe 10:2:1 or something like that i cant remember the exact on that.
