GT28 setup

Hey Tom. I have a quick question for ya. Right now I have the F-max kit on my car with the T3/T4. I would like to upgrade the system to a GT28. I know I'm going to need more stuff than the turbo and the header but I'm wondering if you could help me out with the header and turbo. I'm pretty sure I get get the rest of the pipes locally. I'm looking to see if you can make me a custom header for a GT28.

I know the specs of your turbo are secret but are the specs close to a GT28? Only reason I ask is cause I have been told by a lot of people to go to a GT28. But if the turbo you build is close in specs then I could use your turbo and header combo you already have built.

Thanks

P.S. I tried calling but your a busy person, so I figure you can answer this whenever you get the time.

THANKS. :)

My turbo and the GT28 are about the same in the lower end but up top the 28 wont make the power on mine

The GT28 is closer to a STD t3 or maybe a T3 super60 STG1

It all depends on what you want as peek power

Let me know what i can do to help

MMMM I was under the impression that the 28 would spool faster and still have the breath to out do the t3/t4 that I have now. My goals aren't really to get any more HP. I would just like like to get it sooner and more efficencially thats all. I already put down 260WHP at 15psi. I don't really want to exceed those numbers. Your M.I.C. that I have does pretty well but not the bottem end. :)

Well then what would you recommend? For my goals that I want? I raced another turboed focus who had a t3 super60. We both punched it at the same time and he jumped out ahead first but then he ran out of breath and my bigger turbo eventually let me gain and pass him.

I just know that my turbo is old school technology and I have been told that with an upgraded turbo it will spool faster and last just as long.

Thanks

Look into the T3 super60 STG1 it will spool nicely and still make 260 to 270

If your t3t4 out ran a super60 it was because of tuning our poundage because my custom T3 will make 320+ out of the box

You will LOVE a T3 over the T3T4

Well how much would your turbo cost? I'm not sure if I want a straight up super 60 'causewhen I felt his it didn't feel like it kept going in the upper RPM. Maybe it was the tuning or something, I'm not sure. It would be nice to have a t3 flange though, that way I wouldn't have to buy a different manifold or downpipe or anything.

If not your turbo, give me an example of a better turbo then the super60, for the application I want.

If anything maybe I'll go take a ride in his car again just to make sure.

Like i said even the t3 super 60 STG1 will be more than enough to make 270 HP at the wheels , he had to have other issues

I would go t3 super60 STG1 will spool the quickest STG2 will be a little more top little less bottom and STG3 will be even more top slightly less bottom but even the STG3 will kick the t3t4`s butt on spool up

Well, could you help me out with that. I'm really not sure where to buy a stand alone turbo. I know where to buy kits but not just the turbo.

Can you put together a few options for me and let me know how much they are.

If you want to email them to me thats fine. Or you can put it here, whatever.

Thanks for your time.

For a STG1 NEW Turbonetics STG T3 super 60 you will be looking at about 750.00

Hey Tom can you help me with the differences between the stg1 and the stg2 super60. Where are they going to spool at and how much power can each one dish out before it starts getting out of their range of effeciency? Are there compressor maps I can look at? At which wheels come in each.

Oh Yeah. And how much for your turbo? I'm not sure if I am going to want to go for more power later but I wouldn't mind having the option with out changing out the turbo. Know what I mean. :)

Thanks for all your help.

Turbonetics has the maps on line i think , the STG1 will spool slightly quicker than the STG2 STG1 about 260 to 270 HP and stg2 about 280 to 300
