AMSOIL and other oils like royal purple

I have had many emails and IM about claims or high mile oils like amsoil and there claimes on here

In my opinion you should never run an oil past 3000 miles on a performance engine reguardless of there sales claimes it just isnt safe for the engine

In my opinion amsoil is a total waste of money and time as well as royal purple there claimes are for marketing for the ladder sales gimic

By being a preffered customer you get a discount but the origional seller you like through still gets a kick back of your money

Its over rated and over priced buy conventional oils and your engine will last just as long and save you a ton of money , If you read there claimes they talk all about saving money using there oil , you can save more by not using it

Tom

Tom,
You are the Chief Guru for common sense! I was in on a Mustang Website and a guy who headed up an SCCA Ford Factory Team said pretty much exactly what you do. He said that no matter what oil you used, dino or synthetic, 99 cents a qt. or $10 a qt., it will work fine if you change it at 3000 miles. That led me to believe, like him and like you, that the big buck oils are totally unnecessary.

As someone once said to me, even using the "wrong" viscosity oil for a given engine, and changing frequently, is usually far, far better than using the "right" oil and letting it get old and dirty. Clean, unburned oil is key I say.

I personally disagree. I have no wish to argue and debate with anyone. I love using amzoil oil and I noticed a big difference when I changed both my vehicles to it. They run much better and even after using the Amzoil oil for a yr it was still cleaner looking then new regular oil. You have your own personality and can make your own choices about what you choose to do with your money and your vehicle. I however will not be swayed from my personal opinion and will therefore continue to use and recommend Amzoil oil.

No one is asking you or telling you to change oils , Its your money waste it how ever you choose

The people running royal purple felt the same way you do with all the claims RP put out there on how wonderful there oil was , Now look what happened and how they can no longer make there claims , TONS of people lost trust in RP

A butt dyno is more expectation then it is results that has been proven over and over again but like Smokey says if it makes you feel better then do it and that stands so even with oil , the biggest person winning with amsoil is who you linked or bought it through there making money off of you every time you buy amsoil

amway / amsoil ?

I love it when people say their car runs better on a certain oil. If it is the right oil you'll never notice a power difference. Some people still claim it, but it's just the placebic effect
